What the Day Looks Like

From 9:00 am, your boat is ready at the marina. You and your crew hop aboard, drinks in hand, and by 10:00 am you’re pulling into the Rosario Islands—music up, breeze strong, energy building.

We start at La Piscina, where the vibe is alive with other boats, floating coolers, and playlists echoing over clear water. It’s the perfect spot to kick off the day, dance a little, and take a swim where the party’s already happening.

Around midday, we anchor at your chosen beach club—think Paue, Bora Bora, or Pao Pao. We can reserve a table for your group in advance, with options ranging from boat-to-dock service to DJ sets and beachfront dishes. Expect music, drinks, and people in the same mood as you.

After lunch, the rhythm continues with a final stop at a social cove or back to Cholón for one more round. There’s no fixed playlist, just what your group makes of the moment.

At 4:00 pm, we begin the return journey. As we cruise past Tierra Bomba, Cartagena’s skyline comes back into view—just in time to plan where the night will continue.

Caño Ratón – The True Canal of the Rosario

Caño Ratón is an open marine channel crossing Isla Grande from east to west—a true passageway through the heart of the Rosario Islands. With depths ranging from approximately 2 to 5 meters, it’s wide, navigable, and framed by underwater coral outcrops and mangrove-lined shores—typical of the Park’s mostly marine ecosystem patrimonionatural.org.co. Far from a freshwater estuary, this channel is shaped by Caribbean tides and currents, preserving the area’s marine character. Visibility is usually good, between 5 and 10 meters on calm days—perfect for snorkeling, floating gets, or drift swims. Ecologically, it showcases the Park’s coral reefs and seagrass beds that lie just off its banks—part of the expansive 420 km² coral platform that gives this national park its claim to fame . Expect to see species like queen angelfish, butter hamlets, juvenile snapper, along with rays gliding near the sandy bottom. Culturally, locals use Caño Ratón as a quiet connector between island stops—it’s the classic backdrop for everything from mid-day swims to chilled boat-side lunches with the Mangrove community on shore....

Isla Grande – The Soul of the Rosario Islands

Isla Grande lies about 40–50 minutes by boat from Cartagena, nestled within the Parque Nacional Natural Corales del Rosario y de San Bernardo, which spans 120,000 ha and boasts the widest coral platform in Colombia—~420 km². Its coastal waters average 1.5–3 m deep, warmed to 28–30 °C year‑round tomplanmytrip.com. Beneath the surface, visibility between 5–10 m unveils coral species and reef fish—parrotfish, snapper, sergeant majors—and occasional sightings of sea turtles, rays, and moray eels . Mangrove tunnels along the shoreline host birds like herons and kingfishers. Ocean currents along the Caribbean coast feed the reefs with clear, nutrient-rich water—a factor crucial for coral health, according to sediment and hydrodynamic studies . On land, vestiges of local history include the old Escobar-era villa. The island celebrates community and culture during events like the Festival del Mar, where islanders share culinary traditions and music furnished by local DJs or live bands. Currents & ecology: Northeast trade winds and Caribbean currents promote clarity and nutrient flow—ideal for corals, sponges, and reef fish like parrotfish, snapper, surgeonfish, rays, moray eels, and 3 types of sea turtles (loggerhead, green, hawksbill) . Mangroves & wildlife: Coastal mangrove fringes host red, white, black, and buttonwood mangroves, refuge for herons, kingfishers, pelicans and juvenile fishes Activities: Early kayak tours through mangroves, scuba diving at marked trails (e.g., Punta Brava, Luis Guerra), and sourcing fresh seafood through local fishers....
