What the Day Looks Like
Cartagena isn’t just about views—it has stories worth hearing. The Galleon Route gives you a short but solid dive into the city’s maritime past as you sail across the bay during sunset.
We depart the marina at 5:00 pm for a 2 to 3-hour route. Along the way, you’ll hear about famous pirates like Francis Drake, who invaded the port in 1586, and the defense system designed by engineer Battista Antonelli. This bay once launched treasure fleets—and now gives you one of the best views of the city.
We’ll also touch on the literary side: this same setting inspired Gabriel García Márquez in Love in the Time of Cholera. History, sea breeze, and sunset—without the lecture tone.
